Elder James Eugene Manuel was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He grew up during the eighties through the early 2000’s. As a child, he grew up in Houston’s Fifth Ward, an area plighted with poverty, crime, drugs, and other factors that led many of his peers to either death or prison. By the grace of GOD, he avoided both.
Around June of 2003, the fear of GOD began working repentance in James’ life; turning away from the worldly Hell-bound lifestyle he once enjoyed. The LORD Jesus Christ made it very apparent to him that if he did not surrender his life to Him, he would die eternally lost.
October 2004 James responded to a local radio broadcast of a Holiness preacher, and began attending church services there. In January 2005 James was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. On April 26, 2005 James received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.
Through many tests, trials, and tribulations, James remained faithful in not letting nothing or no one separate him from serving GOD by living a holy life, and abiding in the Apostles teaching.
In the year 2011, after being called and prepared of GOD, James became more active in the church through Media/CD/Tape ministry, and the ministry of the word.
In October 2013, James and Sister Dana (nee Portley) met. It was during her visit to a Wednesday night service, where at the time Minister James taught Bible study. They became husband and wife on January 6, 2014. Later on in 2014 (incorporated 2017) with the help of the Lord, Elder James established Apostolic Holiness – Church of Jesus Christ in Houston, Texas.
We believe in Bible salvation (Acts 2:38), and Bible doctrine (Acts 2:42) as taught by the Apostles of Jesus Christ in the Holy Scriptures. There is only one church of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:18). In order for any man or woman to be saved, both the gospel and Doctrine of Christ must be obeyed (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:42, Hebrews 12:14, 2 John 9). The word of GOD should always and only be the final authority (2 Timothy 3:15), and not the word of men.
We need help in this ministry, and believing GOD to send us saved brothers and sisters of the household of faith, to be a blessing to us, and vice versa. We thank GOD for the souls He has sent to this work, and for them allowing the Lord Jesus Christ to deliver and save them according to the Scriptures.
It’s either Holiness or Hell !
